"Chris Barratt is a kind-hearted, empathic and compassionate therapist. I found him after an online search when I was experiencing anxiety and low moods, which were affecting my day-to-day living.
Through our sessions, Chris could help me see the distortions in my ways of thinking and challenge deep-rooted, preconceived ideas I had about myself. By using a mixture of tried-and-tested CBT techniques, talking and Chris's excellent capacity to listen to you, I was able to change how I viewed not only the world but myself. I grew in confidence and my self-esteem began to shine through.
Thanks to Chris, I now have a set of reliable and effective tools that I can use any time I experience self-doubt, low moods or anxiety. The most valuable thing I learned is that I am not an anxious or depressed person but a human being who experiences the whole range of emotions that life has to offer and that's perfectly normal.
If you've ever hesitated about therapy, rest assured that in Chris's hands you will have a safe place to talk and learn about yourself in new and enlightening ways. It has been one of the best decisions I've made. My only regret is I wish I had found him sooner!"
"When I decided to start therapy, I felt daunted by the wide array of different approaches that I found online. Not knowing which one would be the best for me, I eventually selected Chris as Cognitive Behavior Therapy caught my interest. From my first session, Chris created a comfortable and supportive atmosphere and was always willing to explain the processes behind Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Moreover, he finished every session with actionable advice for tools or methods to further my progress between sessions. After completing the process with Chris, I felt like I had made incredible progress towards regaining control of my life and emotions again. While I would certainly recommend Cognitive Behavior Therapy to anyone interested in improving their mental health, I cannot overstate how thankful I am that I was guided through the process by someone like Chris. He was a patient, non-judgmental, and caring therapist who I think would be a perfect match for anyone exploring Cognitive Behavior Therapy for the first time."
"My sessions with Chis enabled me to talk openly and freely about my thoughts and feelings on different situations. I felt listened to and understood without judgement. Chris is very professional and helped me to take back control of my life with the tools he provided me with. The space itself is very relaxing and calm, creating a safe space to feel at ease. I will indeed get back in contact with Chris if I should need to again in the future and continue to recommend him!"
"Chris is a very kind, attentive and professional therapist who created a safe environment for me to explore my issues relating to anxiety and low self-esteem. Together, we worked on coping mechanisms to better recognise and manage anxiety, and Chris gave me practical tools for when it arises. We also worked on how once can challenge negative thoughts about themselves. With his help, I feel like I’ve made good progress and that I am better equipped to identify the physical signs of anxiety as well as recognise negative self-talk to cope more effectively. I would recommend Chris and his practical CBT approach."
"In my first session with Chris he understood why I was the way I was immediately. It was a complete light bulb moment and very emotional to realise that other people experienced what I did too. Chris worked with me through my depression and perfectionism but also helped with many other parts of my life. He taught me to incorporate CBT methods into my day to day which helped me become unstuck and succeed. Chis is skilled, non-judgemental and funny. Working with him I always felt safe and understood. I would highly recommend him!"
"Before I started seeing Chris, my life had become ruled by my anxiety. I had never been to therapy before and was frankly a bit terrified of confronting my situation. However, Chris’ kind and gentle approach made me feel safe from the start. He showed me a way to self-acceptance and gave me the tools to take more control of my thoughts and emotions. The sessions with Chris have helped bring joy back into my life and tackle challenges with courage and patience. I’m able to connect more deeply with friends and family and feel more at ease around new people."
"I came to Chris a year ago in the middle of a crisis. I was indecisive, anxious and lacked confidence in nearly every aspect of my life - social life, career, relationships. I had gone to more traditional therapy before but felt that while I understood some of the more deeply-rooted reasons for my issues, I was having trouble applying what I was learning in a practical way that I could use in my everyday life. Through realistic and empathetic techniques to help me with confidence, self-belief and self-respect, Chris' work helped me recognise unhelpful, at times destructive, thinking patterns, and set up healthier, more genuine ways of thinking about myself and the world around me. Recognising these patterns and trying to redirect them before they become destructive is something I now do instinctively every day, on my own. The resilience and confidence this has helped me regain has allowed me to take important steps in my career, get back into creative projects I had left on the side for years for fear of not being good enough, and become less reliant on external factors in order to feel good about myself. I am closer now than I was a year ago to the person I want to be and that is in great part thanks to Chris."
"Chris treated me at the lowest moment of my life when I was completely incapacitated by depression and anxiety. He empowered me with actionable strategies for managing my own mind and beliefs, which helped wrest me out of mental patterns I had struggled with my entire life. I tried many types of therapy before coming to CBT and Chris and this is the only treatment that moved the needle for me. I came in the darkest state of my life and left healthier and more stable than I have ever been."
"I've tried different types of therapy in the past, but none have had the same positive impact that Chris has had. His expertise in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy has been instrumental in helping me reframe my negative thought patterns and build my self awareness and confidence. Chris helped to guide me towards a curious mindset where I could observe without judgement. I absolutely love the new habits and practiced that I have built into my daily routine, all thanks to Chris' guidance. Following my treatment with Chris, I finally feel happier, more confident, and hopeful about my future. I highly recommend Chris to anyone seeking to improve their mental well-being."
"I came to Chris at a time where I felt my anxiety had become unmanageable on my own, presenting with physical symptoms as well as mental that often made day-to-day life a struggle. I thought I would never be able to overcome the breathing issues that I had developed and would live with them forever.
I saw Chris for about six or seven sessions - right from the first session he helped to alleviate my symptoms, treating the root cause in my thought patterns, which in turn significantly relieved my breathing difficulties. He has helped me recognise irrational, and unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, which has helped me organise and structure my life and work to relieve my anxiety, and also to control destructive thoughts that were affecting my relationship. I used to get my breathing issue badly and on most days, but it is now negligible and only happens about once a week. My head feels so much clearer and I am able to think more rationally and productively. Chris has taught me ways to manage my breathing issue and thoughts on my own and techniques to practice.
I immediately felt relaxed around Chris and confident in his experience and knowledge. What struck me most was his attention to detail with things I said, remembering my history and things from previous sessions - this really helped with continuity and made me feel like he was really invested in helping me. I would 100% recommend Chris to anyone struggling with any aspect of their life or mental health."
